If i see myself as broken, i might see you as more capable than me…i may then have a sense of entitlement or a sense of not having to do anything. i may see myself as a helpless victim of life’s circumstance, i may see you also as hurting or broken or unable to ….., etc. or i may see you as bully, perpetrator, or oppressors. Naturally you are all and none of the above. i continue to see an illusion of my inner world.
When I see myself as healing, i might see you in a more favourable light and i just might feel hopeful about what i can accomplish. I might see you as perhaps luckier than me who may give me tips on how to be luckier myself.
If I see myself as someone who is healthy, growing and developing, I might see you as healthy, growing and developing. My hope then would be that together we can hold hands and walk forward to a better future. With this illusion i need you to make me whole.
If I choose to see myself as whole, capable and resourceful, then I also see you as whole, capable, and resourceful, I see you not as a person to rescue, but a person to respect. Not broken, but healthy. Not helpless, but self-reliant. Not clueless, but creative.
